Canal path from Leggers. At bollards go Mill St East/Bretton Street to Headfield Rd. Slightly left, cross road and up path by metal gate. Up grassy field then left into Spuggy Wood. Through wood and down Vicarage Rd to Savile Rd. By bridge go down steps to riverside, through works and up path on left to greenway. 500yds after green bridge go down path on left. Go through metal gate and follow path at side of River Spen. Left over metal bridge and right up wide sandy path. At 1st junction, by pylon, take right hand path. After 170m cross small bridge on right then go right. Take wide path by white railings over the hill and back towards the River Spen. Stay alongside this back to metal gate where you entered the park. Left to the greenway and right on greenway, back the way you came as far as mini roundabout. Then down Savile Rd and Warren Street back to the Leggers. Alternatively you could go back via Vicarage Rd/Spuggy Wood, slightly longer but more scenic
