The start is on the straight wide promenade approx 40 metres up the hill from the soldier statue just before the park bench. There is sometimes a chalk line across the tarmac indicating the start.The course goes anticlockwise. The first lap is a small circuit followed by three large circuits going round the side of the lake and along the bottom straight. After passing the lake for the third time the finish is half way up the hill a little bit higher up than the start where a tarmac path branches off to the left.
