The first three runners to finish score.2.A female team consists of at least 3 runners, all from the same club, whether veterans or not. The first 3 runners to finish score.3.Each runner scores according to their time. The team with the lowest aggregate time for its first 3 runners wins.4.Same rule applies for Yorkshire team championship: team with lowest aggregate time for first 3 Yorkshire qualified runners wins.Definition of veterans and qualification for veterans prizes1.The male veterans categories are O40, O45, O50 ,O55, O60 and O65.2.The female veterans categories are O40,O45,O50,O55. Please note that a woman aged between 35 and 39 is NOT A VETERAN for this race.3.Veterans are eligible for prizes in the open age category. If for example a 40-year-old wins the race he or she will get the first prize.4.All veterans are eligible for the first veteran prize ie if the first veteran is an O45 he/she will get the first veteran prize. Apart from that, veterans are not eligible for veteran prizes outside their own age category. If you are a 50 year old you can only win a veterans prize in the 50-54 category even if you beat everyone in the 45-49 category (unless you beat everyone in the 40-44 category as well). One runner can only win one individual prize. If a veteran wins an open prize that frees up a prize for the next runner in that veterans category (not for the next runner in the open category).5.If a veteran wins an open prize and a veteran prize he/she can choose either the open prize or the veteran prize. If he/she chooses the open prize and there are 3 prizes in his age category then the veteran prizes in his age category go to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th runners in his veterans category. If he/she chooses the veterans prize then the open prize which he has turned down goes to the 2nd runner in his veterans category, the 2nd prize to the 3rd runner and the 3rd prize to the 4th runner.6.If a male O45 runner wins the first veteran prize that frees up a prize for the 4th O45 and the 040 runner who is 4th veteran overall but 3rd in the O40 category does not get a prize. In those circumstances the 2nd O45 take the 1st 045 prize, the 3rd O45 takes the 2nd O45 prize and the 4th O45 takes the 3rd O45 prize. Likewise if an O50 should win the overall first prize.7.In categories where there is only one veteran prize (ie M55,M60,M65, F45,F50,F55) the same principle applies:if a veteran from that category wins an open prize or the O40 first prize, then the second runner in his age category takes the veteran prize for that age category.8.The effect of this is that a veteran who takes an open prize will free up a prize for the next veteran .In the open category only the first 5 will get prizes. The runner who finishes 6th in the race, if he/she is an open age runner, WILL NOT GET A PRIZE even if there is a veteran ahead of him/her.9.A runner who wins an individual prize can also win a team prize.
