The Woolpack | There was a great turn out for the Esholt Cross Country, with some 23 members taking part - the largest number for quite some time.
The weather was cool and pleasant, and the conditions reasonable underfoot. Good individual performances bolstered a good team performance. |
|
Some blokes running | The main problem with this report is that everyone was too knackered to take any pictures at the time.
So I have had to improvise.
We won the Ladies and Vets as usual, and came fourth in the Mens.
The course had a strange twist this year, half of it was on roads - to the advantage of on-road lovers. |
|
Esholt | Just in case you didnt realise, here is where we were running.
Jimmy was kind enough to wear trainers again, which caused him to weigh an extra 10 pounds in mud on his trainers over half of the course.
Kevin provided a flask of coffee.
Thanks to Mick and Kevins other half for looking after the bags and cheering us on! |
|
Monique and David 2 | After the main event, Three club members ran back on the canal to granary wharf.
We kicked off by going the wrong way, and then fortunately stealing Julians jam croissant while I distracted him.
The weather was sunny and pleasant, and it was OK apart from Monique thinking she was in a race at the start.
Wetherspoons proved our final destination. |
|
Cheap Beer |
Get In! We somehow managed to miss three trains, why is a mystery.
We made up for it by indulging in the MacDonalds 2 for 1 Big Mac offer. Its what performance athletes need after a big run. |
